Anggrek Tewu
Central Kalimantan Province – Indonesia
This motif was created based on the local wisdom and philosophy of the Anggrek Tewu (“Sugarcane Orchid”) blossom. The people of Kotawaringin Timur want to emulate the sugar cane orchid’s way of life: It continuously grows as it attaches itself to trees without killing its host, symbolizing the social harmony of living together and benefiting from each other without hurting each other. It represents Kotawaringin Timur’s hope to become the most developed district among other districts in Central Kalimantan.
